Arabescato

Arabescato takes its name from the arabesque quality of its veining — broad grey veins that loop and interlock across a white or pale grey ground, forming closed shapes rather than parallel lines. Where Calacatta is dramatic in a linear way, Arabescato is dramatic in a swirling one.

It comes from several Apuan quarries and the commercial name usually carries the source with it: Corchia, Vagli, Cervaiole. The character varies noticeably between them, so the qualifier matters when you specify.

Because the pattern is so directional, orientation during sawing changes the result significantly. Tell us how you intend to cut and we will select blocks that suit it.
